At Little Red Ink we prioritise your time in our studio being a comfortable, collaborative and calming experience.
Our bookings procedure is in place to assist with this, we encourage you to have a little read before contacting to book an artist.
When reaching out via social media, email or phone call, we request as much information from you as possible regarding your perfect tattoo design.
Do you have reference images?
Do you have a colour palette?
Do you have a budget?
Do you have an art style preference?
Do you have an artist in mind?
Don’t be afraid to get descriptive. Having this information prior to the initial consultation allows us to get an idea of which artist would be a perfect fit for your experience at our studio. It speeds up the design process and gives us the opportunity to fit your appointment in as soon as possible.
You’ve reached out to book a tattoo in, whether you have a particular artist in mind, a set piece of artwork you would like or a conceptual design, you will be set up for a 30 minute consult with an artist at the soonest available time.
This is your opportunity to collaborate with the artist to come up with ideas you would like to incorporate into your design. From small and simple to large and detailed, we recommend you bringing any reference images and planned concepts you’ve collected prior, to this consult.
Your artist may take images of placement and will be asking many questions, please be prepared to have this conversation and let us know what will help you feel comfortable during this process.
At the end of the consult, if you are completely happy with the collaboration and ready for one of our artists to design your piece, you will be required to place a flat $100 non-refundable deposit for your future tattooing session.
You’ve had your consult and placed a deposit. Your artist will take on board the information collected at the consult and begin designing your tattoo. Leading up to your tattoo session, your artist will be in contact via email to discuss the designs they have come up with.
This is not an opportunity to make additions to the design, however we know how rushed people may feel upon entering a studio for their session and feeling the need to make their decision instantly. Your artist will send you mock-up design/s via email in which we hope you take some time to discuss perfecting anything you would like to see a little different in the final.
Your artist will reach out to you when they are ready to discuss your design, please be respecting of their time and processes. Be mindful that artists may specialise in a style of tattooing and this will be incorporated into the design they create for you.
Your session has arrived, how have you prepared for it?
We recommend these tips to ensure your session runs smoothly and you are comfortable.
Prepare the area you are being tattooed; please be exfoliating gently and regularly leading up to your session, especially areas of higher skin-cell turn-over, that is; elbows, knees, wrists, ankles, hands, feet and neck.
Prepare your clean exfoliated skin by using moisturisers, butter creams or balms leading up to the tattoo. Do not apply these on the day of the tattoo.
Shower prior to your session.
Wear comfortable clothing with ease of access to the space you will be getting tattooed.
Ensure you have eaten before your session and stay hydrated leading up to your session.
Please show to your appointment without having consumed any blood thinning substances 24 hours prior to your appointment.
